Create a user

This topic describes how to create a user in the KubeSphere Virtualization (KSV) web console.

Prerequisites

The user that you use has been granted the permissions to use the Users module. The Users module is available only to user admin.

Procedure

1. Log in to the KSV web console.

2. In the top navigation bar, click Users to go to the user management page.

3. On the Local Users page, click Create in the upper-right corner.

4. In the dialog box that appears, configure the user information.

   Parameter	Description
   Username	The name of the user. The name can contain only lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and must start and end with a lowercase letter or a digit. The name can contain up to 16 characters in length.
   Email	The email address of the user. The email address can be used to log in to the KSV web console.
   Password	The password of the user. The password must contain digits, letters, and special characters including ~!@#$%^&*_. The password can be 8 to 32 characters in length.
   Confirm Password	Enter your password again to confirm.
   Project	The project to which the user belongs. If you do not specify a project when you create the user, the user is not allowed to view or perform operations on any resource. You can add the user to a project after it is created. For more information, see Add a member to a project and Remove a member from a project.
   Role	The role of the user in the project.
   Description	The description of the user. The description can be up to 128 characters in length. The character types are unlimited.

5. Click OK. The user appears in the user list after it is created.
