Restore a disk from snapshots

Describes how to restore a disk from snapshots in the KSV web console.

This topic describes how to restore a disk from snapshots in the KSV web console. After a disk is created, if you have created snapshots for the disk, you can restore the disk from snapshots.

Prerequisites

The user that you use has been granted the permissions to manage disks. Only user admin, project administrators, and operators can manage disks. Project viewers can view only disks in the projects to which they belong. For more information about permissions, see Disks.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the KSV web console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, click Virtual Resources to go to the management page of virtual resources.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Disks.

  4. On the Disks page, click the name of the disk that you want to manage. The details page of the disk appears.

  5. On the Snapshots tab, find the snapshot from which you want to restore the disk, click operation-menu, and then select Restore Disk from the drop-down list.

  6. In the dialog box that appears, set Name and Description for the restoration record.

    Name
    The name of the restoration record.
    The name can contain only letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and must start and end with a letter or a digit. The name can be up to 16 characters in length.
    Description
    The description of the restoration record.
    The description can be up to 128 characters in length. The character types are unlimited.
  7. Click OK.
