Resize resources for a VM

Describes how to resize resources for a VM in the KSV web console.

This topic describes how to resize VM resources in the KubeSphere Virtualization (KSV) web console.

Prerequisites

The user that you use has been granted the permissions to manage VMs. Only user admin, project administrators, and operators can manage VMs. Project viewers can view only VMs in the projects to which they belong.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the KSV web console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, click Virtual Resources to go to the management page of virtual resources.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose VMs > VMs to go to the VM management page.

  4. On the VMs page, click the name of a VM to view its details.

  5. In the upper-left corner of the details page, click Resize.

  6. In the dialog box that appears, modify the default configuration and disk size of the VM, and click OK. The default configuration includes the number of CPU cores and memory size. For more information about parameters, see Create a VM.

  7. In the Note dialog box, click Restart to make the new configuration take effect. If you click Cancel, the new configuration is saved.

    common:NOTE

The VM must be restarted before the new configuration takes effect. The VM restart may take a while, during which no operations can be performed on the VM. Please select Restart or Cancel based on your business requirements.
