Create a virtual subnet

This topic describes how to create a virtual subnet in the KubeSphere Virtualization (KSV) web console.

Prerequisites

The user that you use has been granted the permissions to manage virtual subnets. User admin can manage all virtual subnets in your cluster. Project administrators and operators can manage the virtual subnets created on their own and have read-only permissions on the virtual subnets created by other users. Project viewers can view only the virtual subnets created in the projects to which they belong.

Procedure

1. Log in to the KSV web console.

2. In the top navigation bar, click Virtual Resources to go to the management page of virtual resources.

3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Networks > Subnets to go to the management page of virtual subnets.

4. On the Virtual Subnets page, click Create in the upper-right corner.

5. In the dialog box that appears, configure parameters for the virtual subnet. The following table describes the parameters.

   Parameter	Description
   Name	The name of the virtual subnet. The name can contain only letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and must start and end with a letter or a digit. The name can be up to 16 characters in length.
   VPC	The virtual private cloud (VPC) where the virtual subnet resides.
   IP Range	The IP address range in which the virtual subnet resides. The value is the subset of the IP address range in which the VPC resides.
   Description	The description of the virtual subnet. The description can be up to 128 characters in length. The character types are unlimited.
   Bandwidth	Click Advanced to set the bandwidth limit for the subnet.
   DNS Server	Click Advanced to specify the IP address of the DNS server.

6. Click OK. The subnet appears in the virtual subnet list after it is created.
