Associate EIPs with resources

Describes how to associate EIPs with resources in the KSV web console.

You can associate elastic IP addresses (EIPs) with virtual private clouds (VPCs) or VMs based on business requirements. After VPCs or VMs are associated, you can access the VPCs or VMs over the Internet by using the EIPs.

This topic describes how to associate EIPs with VPCs or VMs in the KubeSphere Virtualization (KSV) web console.

Prerequisites

The user that you use has been granted the permissions to use elastic IP addresses (EIPs). User admin can manage all EIPs in your cluster. Project administrators and operators can manage the EIPs created on their own and have read-only permissions on the EIPs created by other users. Project viewers can view only the EIPs created in the projects to which they belong.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the KSV web console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, click Virtual Resources to go to the management page of virtual resources.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Networks > EIPs to go to the EIP management page.

  4. Find the EIP that you want to associate, click operation-menu on the right side, and then select Associate VPC or Associate VM from the drop-down list.

  5. In the dialog box that appears, select the VPC or VM that you want to associate, and click OK.

    common:NOTE

Each EIP can be associated with one VM or one VPC. If no EIP is available, you can click Apply in the upper-right corner of the page to apply for an EIP. For more information, see Apply for an EIP.
