Create a physical network

Describes how to create a physical network in the KSV web console.

This topic describes how to create a physical network in the KubeSphere Virtualization (KSV) web console.

Prerequisites

  • The user that you use has been granted the permissions to use the Physical Resources module. The Physical Resources module is available only to user admin.

  • A physical NIC is available in the system.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the KSV web console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, click Physical Resources to go to the management page of physical resources.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Networks > Physical Networks to go to the management page of physical networks.

  4. On the Physical Networks page, click Create in the upper-right corner.

  5. In the dialog box that appears, configure basic information for the physical network, and then click Next. The following table describes the parameters.

    ParameterDescription
    Name
    The name of the physical network.
    The name can contain only letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and must start and end with a letter or a digit. The name can be up to 16 characters in length.
    Type
    The type of the network. KSV provides the following network types:
    • Business Network: the network used for running business workloads on VMs.
    • EIP Network: the network used for EIPs.
    Description
    The description of the network.
    The description can be up to 128 characters in length. The character types are unlimited.
  6. In the Select NIC step, select the NIC that you want to use, and then click Next.

    common:NOTE

    If multiple NICs exist on a node, you can select one NIC only on the same node.

  7. Verify that you have selected a valid NIC and click OK. The network appears in the network list after it is created.
