Create a disk

Describes how to create a disk in the KSV web console.

This topic describes how to create a disk in the KubeSphere Virtualization (KSV) web console. Disks can be mounted to VMs for data storage.

Prerequisites

User admin can create disks in all projects of your cluster. Common users such as project administrators and operators can create disks in the projects to which they belong.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the KSV web console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, click Virtual Resources to go to the management page of virtual resources.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Disks.

  4. On the Disks page, click Create in the upper-right corner.

  5. In the dialog box that appears, configure parameters for the disk.

    ParameterDescription
    Name
    The custom name of the disk.
    The name can contain only lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and must start and end with a lowercase letter or a digit. The name can contain up to 16 characters in length.
    Project
    The project in which the disk is created.
    Size
    Th size of the disk.
    Quantity
    The number of disks that you want to create. You can create up to 50 disks at a time.
    Description
    The description of the disk.
    The description can be up to 128 characters in length. The character types are unlimited.
  6. Click Create. The disk appears in the disk list after it is created.
