View the details of a VM

Describes how to view the details of a VM in the KSV web console.

This topic describes how to view the details of a VM in the KubeSphere Virtualization (KSV) web console.

User admin can view all VMs created in your cluster. Common users such as project administrators, operators, and viewers can view the VMs created in the projects to which they belong.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the KSV web console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, click Virtual Resources to go to the management page of virtual resources.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose VMs > VMs to go to the VM management page.

  4. On the VMs page, click the name of a VM to view its details.

  5. On the left side of the details page, view basic information about the VM.

    ParameterDescription
    ID
The universally unique identifier (UUID) of the VM in the system. The UUID is automatically assigned by the system.
    Status
    The status of the VM.
    IP Address
The IP address of the VM. If a VM contains multiple NICs, multiple IP addresses are assigned to the VM.
    Project
The project name in which the VM is created.
    Node
The node that runs the VM. This parameter is available to user admin only.
    IOPS & Throughput
The IOPS and throughput of the disk mounted to the VM.
    Upload & Download
The network rate of the VM.
    Created at
The time when the VM was created.
    Created by
The username that is used to create the VM.
  6. In the Configuration and Associated Resources areas, view the configuration and associated resources of the VM.

  7. On the right side of the details page, click the Overview tab to view the resource overview of the VM.

    SectionDescription
    Usage
The resource usage of the VM, including the usage of CPU cores and memory.
    Requests and Limits
The resource limits and requests of the VM, including the CPU and memory resources.
    Compute
The monitoring of compute resources, including the CPU usage, average CPU workloads, and memory usage.
    Networks
The monitoring of network resources, including the inbound and outbound traffic, IOPS, packet loss rate, and error rate.
You can expand the drop-down list next to Networks to select an NIC to view its performance.
    Storage
The monitoring of storage resources, including the disk throughput, IOPS, average I/O latency, and I/O queue length.
You can expand the drop-down list next to Storage to view the resource usage of a specific disk.
  8. On the right side of the details page, click the Disks tab to view the disks mounted to the VM.

    ParameterDescription
    Name
The custom name of the disk.
The name can contain only lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and must start and end with a lowercase letter or a digit. The name can contain up to 16 characters in length.

The UUID of the disk in the system.
    Size
    Th size of the disk.
    Type
The type of the disk. KSV provides system disks and data disks.
    Filesystem
    The filesystem of the disk.
    Storage Type
The storage type of the disk.
  9. On the right side of the details page, click the Networks tab to view the network information of the VM.

    ParameterDescription
    Name
The name of the network used by the VM.
    ID
The UUID of the network in the system.
    IP Address
The IP address of the VM.
    Type
The type of the network. KSV supports physical networks and virtual networks.
    MAC Address
The MAC address of the VM.
    IP Range
The IP address range in which the VM resides.

  10. On the right side of the details page, click the Snapshots tab to view the snapshots created for the VM.

    ParameterDescription
    Name
The custom name of the snapshot.
The name can contain only lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and must start and end with a lowercase letter or a digit. The name can contain up to 16 characters in length.
    ID
The UUID of the snapshot in the system.
    Description
    The description of the snapshot.
    Created at
The time when the snapshot was created.
  11. On the right side of the details page, click the Events tab to view the events that happened to the VM.
