Configure QoS rules
Describes how to configure QoS rules in the KSV web console.
KubeSphere Virtualization (KSV) supports custom quality of service (QoS) rules. This feature can help you identify different business traffic, ensure the network bandwidth for data transmission, and reduce network latency. This way, you can improve the network resource usage. This topic describes how to configure QoS rules in the KSV web console.
Create a QoS rule
KSV allows you to create a maximum of five QoS rules based on network performance metrics. You can perform the following steps to create a QoS rule:
Log in to the KSV web console.
In the upper-right corner of the page, click and select Platform Management.
In the dialog box that appears, select the Networks tab to create a QoS rule based on network performance metrics.
common:NOTE
KSV provides a default QoS rule. If you want to use the QoS rule created, click Set as Default next to the rule to use it as the default rule.
If a rule is deleted, VMs that apply the rule will use the default rule on the next reboot.
Delete a QoS rule
If a QoS rule is no longer needed, perform the following steps to delete the rule:
Log in to the KSV web console.
In the upper-right corner of the page, click and select Platform Management.
In the dialog box that appears, select the Networks tab to view the QoS rules created based on network performance metrics.
Find the QoS rule that you want to delete and click on the right side.
In the dialog box that appears, click OK to delete the QoS rule.
common:WARNING
After the rule is deleted, all VMs that apply the rule will use the default rule on the next reboot.
What to do next
You can enable the QoS feature and specify a QoS rule to take effect when you create a VM. For more information, see Create a VM.
